GI Workshop Visualization of Environmental Data

This series of workshops has been conducted by Prof. Denzer and Prof. Güttler between 1990 and 1996, on behalf of the German Informatics Society (GI) and along with Denzer's chairmanship of the Special Interest Group "Visualization of Environmental Data".

During these workshop, we presented and discussed innovative approaches and systems for the graphical presentation of environmental data and processes. We also discussed deficiencies in existing systems. Topics included: 3D data visualization, animation of natural processes, Geographical Information Systems, integrated user interfaces and many more.

The workshops have been published with Springer and Metropolis:

GI Workshop Integration of Environmental Data

This series of workshops has been conducted by Prof. Güttler and Prof. Denzer between 1993 and 1996, on behalf of the German Informatics Society (GI) and along with Güttlers's chairmanship of the Special Interest Group "Integration of Environmental Data".

During these workshops, we presented and discussed innovative approaches and systems in the field of environmental information systems integrating different information sources. We discussed deficiencies in existing systems and integration concepts. Topics included: Meta information, distributed vs. centralized systems, integration tools, environmental data catalogues, use of internet and hypermedia techniques and many more.

The workshops have been published with KfK journal series and Metropolis:
